“Only time I would try another flavor if my particular flavor was out of stock and go at a different brand of flavor is if it's on sale. I have a coupon or some incentive to get it. I wouldn't pay regular price for it. So if there's no sale or coupon or anything of benefit that would lower the price for me, then I would just wait for my favorites to be restocked.”

“In store signage marketing doesn't really play any role for me. Promotions would. You know, things that get you to buy it for discounted cost would would influence me.”

“The promotion was buy two, you know, get one free. You know? So you get a one free bar, you buy two. Anyway, I think it was good. The bar was good flavor, good good price for it.”

“Yeah. It certainly would if there's a sale. I usually go for try something different if I haven't tried it before. If I have tried it before and didn't like it, I usually don't buy those no matter what.”

“It definitely inspires me, when it's on sale to try it because instead of you know, it just kinda in this case, it's $2.24 a bar, which isn't bad. And I you know, it's regularly $2.99 a bar. It's not a huge savings, but it's yeah. It's it definitely influences my decision to try a new product, not only for the price, but the fact that the in here, I'm showing you, like, the yellow labels stand out. So it kinda draws my attention to the label and makes me think, oh, this might be something I'd like to try. So it does influence my decision. Another thing that really influences my decision to try a new product, I will say, is I use this app called Ibotta, and you get money back if you buy what's on there. You just submit your receipt. So definitely, I kinda if I am shopping for protein bars, I kinda look on Ibotta First too to see what's on there and if any of them match what I like.”

“I look for something that's on sale. And if it has, like, two for five or two for six, then I'll typically pick it up and try it out.”

“It's a little bit of both. First, if it's on sale, that's gonna make me wanna gravitate towards it versus if it's regular price. So first, if it's on sale, then I'll look at what flavors on sale, and then I'll obviously get it if it's the flavor I like and it's on sale. Promotions more so than signage play a role for me in getting the products. Normally, when there's a promotion, you have signage, so they go hand in hand, and that's what would influence my decision. If it's not on sale, only way I'd get it is if I had rewards points to use up or a Friday coupon. I even though I love the flavor, I wait till things are on sale and or have a percentage or price off of it when that will make me wanna buy it.”

“Absolutely. Absolutely. 1000% it does. A lot of times before I'm coming to the store, I check my Ibotta app to see what's on there depending on if I'm looking for protein bars, laundry beads, laundry detergent, ice cream. And many, many times, I have tried a new product because it's either on my Whole Foods app on sale or the Target. If it's on sale, sometimes Safeway even I'm a loyalty member and sometimes Safeway offers free products, and I've tried products that way. Why not? If it's free, I just bring it home and somebody in the house will try it. And if we like it, we'll buy it again. So I think definitely it influences my choices to try new things and, buy new things.”

“If there's a good brand that's on clearance or on sale, that definitely influences my decision. I always like saving money where I can even if it means navigating from my typical purchase.”

“They only influence my decision if it was a protein bar that I would have otherwise bought. If I'm not interested in the protein bar, the fact that it's on sale is not gonna influence me. But, certainly, if it's something I'm otherwise interested in, I would choose it, over another one because it's on sale.”

“Yeah. If it says something like new flavor or sale, that'll catch my eye. It might draw my attention to that over, you know, the same variety of of some other bar that's been on the market for years that I've passed by a bunch of times.”

“I don't know. Like I said, maybe if you gave me a free sample, could be like, hey. Yeah. Try this and see what see what it tastes like, how you like it, and I'll give you a coupon maybe for your first purchase.”

“Gas stations and convenience stores, I've noticed, will usually sell their products at a higher price, and Walmart has really good deals. Also, sometimes I do get discounts, on certain clearance items and stuff at Walmart.”

“Yes. There are signs. They have Lenny and Larry's protein cookies, two for five, complete protein cookies. I do get that for my one daughter. She likes the protein cookies, so they are instead of $2.99, they're two for five. And nothing for the clip bars, but they do have the protein bars, two for five fifty with the more protein in the bottom. They're on sale.”
