Quotes
“First, one of the main influence when choosing destinations to travel, they have to be family friendly because I'm a I'm a mother of three. So I'd like a place where if I travel with my family, I know that the activities for everyone for everyone in my family, especially my kids. Another reason for choosing where to go, sometimes I also give options to my children. They also decide on where to to go for trips. So it's mostly a family affair. One of the reason how I decide would also, what I can say is I like choosing countries that are peaceful. So ensuring my family is safe and countries where there's a lot of nature. For example, this year, we traveled to both Zanzibar and Malindi because of their coastal natures.”
“The main influences when I'm traveling with family would be something that's not terribly far. So usually, like, or Central America because my kids are young. I also look for countries that are safe. They have food that's, you know, fairly similar to what we eat. English is widely spoken. It's fairly easy to get around, transportation wise, and just has a lot to offer.”
“Definitely a mix of, if the weather's right, a bit of beach, of course, but also in the mountains for a bit of hiking, good food, that's important. Yes, those are the three things: beach mountains or, exactly, something for running. Good food and, yes, opportunities for the child too, where they can let off steam.”
“I look for if it's my first time to travel in the country, then definitely I would be looking into the usual touristy things that, is being recommended in that place. However, I always want to see some hidden gems. So, like, especially for food. So I usually look for Michelin restaurants or Michelin bib recommendations. I also check out the nightlife such as the cocktail and bar scene. At the same time, I also look for unique places to check out. So it could be unique stores or experiences that, we could actually do as a family or as a group.”
“Well, it depends on what my group, usually wants to go to, or it also depends on the flights that are currently available. So if there's a good deal for a particular destination, especially if we have been wanting to go to, then we'll typically go to that. And at the same time, if it's not that, normally, it's being influenced by family. So should there be some events that we need to attend. So for example, my last trip was, we had to go to Canada for a wedding of my cousin, hence, we decided to go there.”
“I would say a mixture of both. I normally travel with my family. So there has to be things for some children to do, so there's that's more kind of adventurous, I suppose. We do like to explore, but we like to sort of relax as well. So we'll kind of split the time evenly between, exploring new things and experiences and then sort of relaxing by the pool. So we'll kind of do it. Generally, we'll do more, active things in the morning, and then we'll sort of relax later in the evening. So it's kind of a balance between the two.”
“It depends what's the season. I don't like traveling in high season. We don't like traveling in high season because the prices are always, like, three times. Nobody likes that. And is the place kid friendly? Do we have activities? Also, the security of the destination. Also, the aesthetics of where we're gonna be staying, that also plays a role. How much are the flight tickets? Because sometimes we'll be like, oh, let's go to the to this place, and then the flight tickets are, like, three times the budget that we have. And then we find another destination that has cheaper flight tickets. So, yeah, that's our criteria of choosing which destination we're gonna go for.”
“So main emphasis, I suppose, are, first of all, the length of the flight and what sort of facilities there are for children. Obviously, having two young daughters is important that there are activities for them to do so they won't get bored. Secondarily is things like the sort of safety of the place, the culture of the country. We typically decide based on what deals are available at the moment and, what facilities are there at the place secondarily. So we'll have we'll do a bit of research. We'll look into it. We'll sort of read reviews and things like that, and then plan out what we might might could do there and then go from there.”
“Well, when I travel, I tend to have experiences I don't usually have elsewhere—experiences unique to that place—just to get to know it, understand the place, the culture, the people. And I'm not much of an adventurer; I prefer traditional tours, seeing tourist attractions, visiting famous places. I also really enjoy going out to eat; I often go to well-known, renowned restaurants, right? And I usually take these trips with my husband and kids. Sometimes, very rarely, I travel alone with my husband, but most of the time, I take my kids with me, so it's always a four-person trip.”
“As I mentioned, we have a one year old, so we aren't really restricted in terms of when we can go. Obviously, a lot of families have to coincide with things like school holidays, etcetera. Obviously, with our daughter being younger, that is an issue for us. So we do tend to try and travel outside the school holidays, so that is generally a bit cheaper. And depending on the destination, we try and lean up to have the best weather possible. Obviously, sunshine's kinda the main factor for us. We live in Scotland, so it tends to be wet majority of the time. But we do enjoy seasonal trips in autumn, taking the kinda autumn scenery and stuff in different places. But I would say we also do make use of deals. We've done a few last minute trips spontaneously and that's just been a down to getting a good deal for it. So yeah.”
“Yes, of course, it's not a sole decision; we coordinate it together. It's always a question of who. And then, we have a few things on the list, we often discuss what we might like, and then it all works out, practicality-wise. So, if we want to go on a city trip, the planning is obviously different than a beach vacation. And the biggest influence is actually the desire for the destination.”
“So I travel with my husband, and now we travel as a family, me, my husband, and my daughter. So when we were only two, a couple, we went to Bali, and it was a relaxation trip. And we also did some invent, adventures over there. But after a kid, it's just been that we want something that is, you know, just relaxing for both of us and which is convenient for us as a family. So for now, we don't look for adventures must. We just look for, a getaway, a relaxation getaway, and whatever we can do conveniently with our child. So, we prefer something that is easily accessible, that is child friendly, And, you know, that gives, all of us peace of mind, and we don't have to stress over things. Because I think that, you can do adventures with a kid, but when the kids are old old enough. But since I have a toddler, so, taking care of, her is, you know, little bit difficult during the travel, so we don't, prefer adventure trips right now.”
