Quotes
“I'd probably say, like I mentioned there, that kind of real time currency conversion so you could see exactly how much you are spending, and the local currency and your own currency. And maybe possibly some suggestions, for wherever Azure as well, excursions, attractions, things like that.”
“I think the most helpful thing that can be put on that dream card or app is the currency conversion because it is essential, especially when you are going to another country that you have never been to before, it is your first time and you are not sure about the correct currency conversion of that country. It is a big help so that you can have your own knowledge to know how much the currency conversion really is in a country that you are going to.”
“I use Monzo because it gives the best exchange rates, and it's always a live exchange rates. And they always they don't charge for using your card abroad, and they don't charge for cash withdrawals either. And then I have my Barclays credit card as a backup in case of emergencies, but I hardly use that, or I, will only use it for bigger purchases.”
“It is important not to lose money while converting one value to another value respectively. It is important also to have a clear a clear statement to all the situation, the financial situation that you have. How much do you spend in a place? How much could you spend? And and to have, as I said, a transparent transaction.”
“That would actually be useful, especially if it would, like, you know, like, if it would already, like, list down, like, what that exact transaction was. Like, how it is with the Apple card. Like, it would categorize, you know, what what was what that was spent on. So that'll be cool, for for that for that app.”
“So for me, I think the app should be there will be a category. So for example, food, tourist destination, and trans fee. So, you know, whenever I tap my card, whenever I do transaction, it will automatically oh, it will go under food. It would, go with accommodation. It would will go to booking. So I it's more organized rather than just one list. For example, I made a payment with transportation like that. So for me, if there would be a categories, it will be more convenient. So and it will also better to track down your expenses. Right? So for me, that's one of the feature that should have in a payment card or application. I do wish someone would do something like that. Right? And, of course, it is important to have a audit. Right? So therefore your expenses, so you know where your money goes.”
“Well, if I'm gonna be honest, I think being able to monitor the in real time, or the in real time costs of the purchases you make into certain countries is actually gonna be helpful because you're gonna be mindful of how much the currency conversion is. See, with my card, I'm not able to see that, unfortunately. So I usually track my spending with base estimates on the currency conversion at the time and plus and plus the bank's fee with conversion. So it's usually tends to be a little bit higher.”
“And Revolut stand out to me because I love how they have live rates, and I can transfer my pounds into the local currency, and it will give me the live rate there and then and how they don't charge any fees. I do think they're very they're very cool, the fact that they are universally allowing people to travel and enjoy more of their money instead of spending it on fees and, charges. So that's why I do love Revolut. And Visa, I think my my image of them would just be the fact how universal they are and how inclusive they are of all countries.”
“I wouldn't say there's been anything major. As I mentioned, there haven't been massive fees. I would say probably the most difficult thing, is when you're buying something abroad and you don't have that instant currency conversion. So it can be a bit hard to work out just how much, you're spending on something.”
“It would definitely offer free international transactions with the, you know, most up to date real time currency conversion so I get the best rate possible. It would offer, like, miles or points towards travel. So I get, you know, five miles, five points per dollar, let's say. You know, the more the better added bonuses when possible. It would, be accepted pretty much anywhere, so I wouldn't have a problem using it in all the different countries that I travel to. Yeah. That's pretty much it. Plus all the other protections that it offers, you know, fraud protection, trip insurance, travel insurance would would be great.”
“Yeah. I can give you real time, currency exchange rates. Yeah. So when you do make a charge and you think you're spending, you know, a $100 and you come find out that you spent a 110, a $115, that that is important to be able to to do that tracking, you know, in real time as as you're going along.”
“Oh, absolutely. If I could see just, a tally of what I'm spending, where, and then maybe a detailed analysis of I don't I guess an AI would generate this. How to cut back on that if it gets too greedy. It's like set a limit for, say, I'm not gonna spend more than $500 on food. And then it will not let me spend more than $500 on food if I'm over that limit. Now something like that, do think would be very beneficial while managing, my travel expenses.”
“I maybe to keep track of how much you're spending. Because sometimes you come back and you don't realize how much money you spent. You might have spent £500 on drink somewhere, within a few days. So I guess, yeah, it would be it would be useful, and I guess to categorize where you're spending that money. And sometimes the thing that was useful in the Revolut app was you could also add a note. So when because sometimes it just says shop one, and you don't know what exactly that means or what you bought from there or what which transaction that was.”
“Yes, it is important to me that the credit card I use when I travel can withdraw cash for free at the best possible rate, and that I can also pay with it at an equally good rate. My wish is that the rate is always as good as the local money changer's rate. That is exactly how it is; that if I go into town abroad for a long time and go to a money changer, I go to the currency exchange with the best rate, then this rate would also apply to the card, which is not usually the case. Exactly. I need a special function for you there. I simply need the option of having the best exchange rate possible, having the cheapest exchange rate, that is the most important thing to me. Everything else is really irrelevant to me.”
“If I could create my dream travel payment card or app, some of the features or parts that I would I would want to have to make my trip more enjoyable would be a feature like having to or rather a feature where my my payments are are easily tracked, where how I spend my expenses so that I can't go overboard. So that if I've planned to use a particular amount of money as as a base of what I want to to use during that trip. The the app or feature can tell me where I'm overspending. Another feature would be a feature where it will alert me when I'm making online payments that are that are fraudulent fraudulent. So which will also help me in terms of security. So I believe those two things are among the special features that I would want. One that would help me track my spending and ensure that I do not overspend, and one that shows me security alerts where there are fraudulent payments.”
“I guess it would be something that that tracks the purchases. And I guess it keeps a running tally, and then it divides the different purchases into the different kinds kinds of purchases they are. Like like, this is how much you spent on food. This is how much you spent on travel. This much you spent on a hotel, etcetera, etcetera.”
“So when choosing how to pay, it's I think about the fees. For example, when I purchase coffee in Japan, when I purchase a coffee, a cup of coffee, I need to think about the fees since I the currency there in Japan is different compared to when I was in The Philippines. So I need to know how much is the fees that they're going to charge me if I pay something for a product. You know? Like, how much will it cost for a fee or if there are, you know, hidden charges that I don't know. So I need to know if there are something that I need to pay extra so that I won't be surprised if I see, you know, something on my account or on my credit card bill, like, if I'm overcharged something or not. So I need to be, you know, prepared in case there are, you know, extra expenses that I didn't know about, especially the systems in other countries that thinks if I am you know, if it's compatible to my method of payment or not. So I need to know exactly what to pay, how much will I spend more, or if it is compatible to my payment, like the credit card or debit card. So I will know how the system works in another future, especially for me as a tourist, as a new traveler.”
