Quotes
“I think the main message is really relevant, like, completely relevant to these days we are living now. I think mainly after COVID, there was a big spread of fake information everywhere. And I think now with the war that is happening in the Palestine and Israel, and it's really important to know that someone is there working in the field to bring us the correct and the true information of things. So I think it's completely relevant that this ad will come right now.”
“I thought it was more dramatic than I expected, which I like. It was more serious than I expected. When I think of, an advert for BBC News, I assume it's gonna be covering things like the royal family, a lot of stories based in and around London. And I just don't care about London specific things. I don't care about the royal family. I don't care about celebrities. So the fact that this was discovering this was covering real life issues was, surprising in a good way.”
“So the advertisement I've just watched essentially, it made me feel overwhelmed with all these various scenarios such as AI deepfakes, such as so much information is out there. It's everyone's doing everything to sort of justify conspiracies such as the pandemic, whether it's real. So it's putting a lot of fear. It's putting a lot of doubts in people's mind. It's a government telling the truth. What is the truth? How could you know the truth in this day and age? Because there's so many different things on social media. You get a lot of people saying this is fake, this is staged, it puts doubts in your mind, what's real, what's the truth, but then BBC came along to give that assurance where it's just like we're actually working 20 fourseven to verify your claims or making sure whether it's the truth. It's all gave you a clarification. So in a world where everything feels overwhelming, we got BBC fighting in the corner to justify and verify claims, working twenty four seven to give you real music gives you that reassurance for me. Because at first, was overwhelmed, didn't know what to expect with so many information sources out there, but which one's real. But I'm glad to build trust as well, which appeals to me. The BBC was saying to that they're going out for the truth, which helps a lot. But I'm still skeptical as people are. You only see the truth with your own eyes, but if it's been verified, if it's, you know, been spoken about and the majority is ruling it as the truth, whether everyone's got their own perception, as it's based on what happened, actions, It's something there. It's a media that's there to get the conversation going at least.”
“Yeah. So I've just watched the the advertisement, and I think it I think it's quite relevant and quite pertinent to, you know, to, I mean, to to today's times, of course. There's a lot of fake news that goes around, especially on the social media. So this is an you know, I do I do have an interest in politics and, you know, day to day life. And, of course, yeah, you know, I am on social media as well, and it does concern me, the amount of fake news that goes unchecked on on online. And, of course, you know, this contribute to the rise of the far right as well. So I think this this advert was, I mean, I really I really liked it, and it sheds light on a real, really crucial issues that that that affects a lot of us because, you know, it goes into the heart of politics, and it affects a lot of it it does affect a lot of general public around us as well. So I really like it liked it.”
“I think what what made it unique and creative is that they took, the most recent events, but the ones that are more relevant to people like me, adding to most of the people, which is the COVID pandemic, the fake news, the war news in the Palestine and Israel, and the fake news that come from that as well. And I think it was really original that it just compiled all that, and I think it's impossible for people not to understand what they meant with it.”
“I thought it was a very powerful advert, and it really captured a lot of hot topics around disinformation, deep faking, the rise of AI and AI video generation that is kind of opening up a lot of new concerns around, yep, fake news and truth online and trustworthiness of sources. And I think the BBC has definitely a a really strong stance on this issue. Obviously, it's publicly funded. So it's kind of almost more important than than for any other organization for it to be, you know, to seek the truth without fear or favor. Did strike me that I'm not the kind of person who needs to be convinced about some of this because I am naturally, you know, positively inclined towards BBC, and I I think very highly of it. But, yeah, I think it was it was a it was a really strong advert, and it kind of sets the tone for more to come, if you like, by talking about, you know, the fight for truth being just underway. I was impressed by it.”
“I found that as the ad went on, I was paying more attention to it, because I I didn't expect it to be, covering those subjects. I, I didn't realize it was going to be for news coverage, but it was it was covered in a the the ad presented it in a way that was actually quite powerful. Like I said, I think it touched on some really important things right now. We're a bit of a turning point when it comes to fake news, online manipulation, AI, that kind of thing, the the kind of divisions in society. And as it started touching on those points, I took it more seriously, and I thought it was presenting some important ideas that news and the truth is worth fighting for and supporting.”
