“I base it on how dirty the items are by me visibly looking at them. If I didn't rinse something off at all in my sink prior to loading it, I would consider it very dirty. Or if it was a pot or pan that had burnt on food, quite dirty would mean that there would be Grease stains as an example or stains from pasta sauce. Moderately dirty is my typical load which has very limited grease or pasta sauce stains. And in this case, this is what this load is considered.”

“I'm gonna show you my dishwasher and exactly how I have it loaded. Here's my GE dishwasher. Here's the bottom basket. As you could see, the larger items are in the back. I'm gonna turn around the camera here. Okay. That's better. I load the larger items in the back. As you could see, it's almost full on this end. I would possibly put pots and pans if I had any. So once it's fully loaded, I'm gonna run my dishwasher. In the front, I line up all my small dishes and plates. Here's my medium sized ones on this side, and in the front, have a basket with all my silverware. As you can see, I have a moderate amount of dirt on the plates. There's two examples. The smaller ones really aren't too dirty, so I would say this is sort of a moderate amount of dirt and food particles. Here's my top basket. On this side, I usually put mugs and glasses. And on this side, I'll usually put the bowls in the back. And some kinda odd shaped bowls, I'll put them here in the front. Down the middle, I'll usually put spatulas or if I have some large knives or cutting utensils as such. Now for my dish detergent, I'm currently using cascade complete. It seems to do a really good job, and it's got Dawn in there. And it leaves them virtually spot free and shiny as per the claims.”

“Okay. So this is what we've got going on in the dishwasher. We've got lots of plates. We've got two baking sheets. We've got a cutting board. We have a plastic bowl, some spatulas, some utensils. We've got more plates. We've got coffee mugs, a lid to a pot, I guess, more coffee mugs, some glass Tupperware, measuring cups. Really just a standard load between, you know, what we used to cook dinner and what we had used throughout the days since we last run ran the dishwasher, which was what? Today's Monday. So last time we ran the dishwasher was Saturday.”

“Sure. So in this load, there's plates. We have a plastic. We have ceramic. We have cutting boards, and we have cups, forks, knives, spatulas. And then on this top rack, we have larger bowls for, like, storage, things like that, and then, like, cereal bowls and then glassware and some smaller bowls, throughout the top rack.”

“So this load is kind of a typical dish load for us after a lunch or dinner. As you can see, there's already things in there. There's already silverware. There's bowls, plates, mugs. There's water chips, water nuts. There's plastic Tupperware. There's straws, lids, and so forth.”

“I'd say it's moderately dirty because some of it's been rinsed, some of it hasn't. There is a couple place that have more food stuff on them, a couple, Tupperware that still have some food things on them. But, you know, I would say it's not extreme or tons of grease.”

“I'd say this is moderately dirty because I I've made sure actually to rinse everything pretty well before I put it in, which I like to do. And but, you know, there are standard food marks on on the items I'm putting in. An example of something I'm about to load, you can see that there's just some some residual food marks. So I'd say a pretty standard load overall.”

“So we have, some bowls here and some cups here, but I wasn't gonna run it because it's not full yet. I don't like running it when it's not full. So we have some bowls and cups there, and then we also have extra bowls down here, plates, more cups, and then our utensils and, spatulas and things like that on the bottom. I feel like it's just, like, our typical daily use of, like, bowls and cups, so it's just a very normal load.”

“I would say it's moderately dirty. I feel like we do a pretty good job of rinsing our bowls and our silverware, but I see there's a couple items that have some food stuck on. But like I said, we try to either soak things when they go in the sink or rinse them. So I would say just kind of everyday food marks.”

“We had spaghetti last night as part of a takeout meal that we brought home with veal marsala as the main dish. So we had some sauce items that I lightly rinsed. So they're a little sticky in there. And some cooking items. So again, moderately dirty, I would say.”

“So there is ketchup on here. There is potatoes, salad, salmon, on some of these items.”

“Yes. You can see the casserole dish still has some crumbs and crusts on the side from the casserole last night leftover, and there's some grease in the bowls as well.”

“So I did some cooking earlier. So I have, like, some of the items that I used for making chicken parm, so, like, bread crumbs, some egg residue. Some of the plates are from a few days ago, so that's going to take some extra cleaning, and then some bowls and cups as well.”

“my silverware is pretty gross because I do not pre rinse it. And then these are all of my plates. They're not too bad. I mean, the one I showed earlier, this one kinda has a little bit of food left on it. And then these bowls, like this one's pretty gross, but all the other ones look not too bad. This one has a little bit of residue.”

“There's a few things. It looks like we got some ranch dressing down in there, some chicken scraps, some rice scraps. Looks like maybe some ketchup over there. So it's nothing super bad, just a few things.”

“They've not been sitting for too long, but you know, I do do a quick rinse or a dump into the garbage, but there's pieces of salad in there, sauce, there's probably a few pieces of meat, and then ingredients that we use to mix. So it's not very dirty in that I did dump out most as much as I could in the garbage and give it a quick rinse, but it's not perfect. So it's still fairly dirty.”

“I mean, really, there's just some food marks on there. I make an effort to, you know, wash things off by hand before I put it in the dishwasher. I know I don't have to do that, but, you know, I would rather use a little bit extra water myself to make sure that the dishes are clean than to leave it all up to the dishwasher and the multiple runs of the dishwasher be required. You know, there's some things that are greasy. There's some things that, you know, food might get stuck on. Sometimes the food gets stuck in the hot lids or sometimes the mugs get stained with coffee. Sometimes, you know, food can get stuck on the plates. Sometimes the oils and greases can get stuck on the spatulas, especially these silicon kinds. They're I mean, you can see the shine on my fingers. Definitely it's residue on it. So moderately dirty. It's not filthy. It's nothing that the machine can't handle.”

“The, food residue is gonna be some leftover, items that's in here. As you can see, here are some of the items that was here that I cooked with. I fried some fish. I cut up some fruit on a cutting board and used that as well. You know, it's just typical things. I think I still have some items in my sink. I'm gonna be putting these in as well. Plastic cup that I used earlier. I'm gonna go ahead and put that in. And then a storage container that has some things that I had cooked earlier. I'm gonna go ahead and put that in. And then I have some more utensils. I'm gonna go ahead and add those. So it's a combination of of different things that was there. Some of them, like I said, I had some fish earlier. I had some french fries, some fried food. I had some pasta. So these are just some of the things that's gonna go in there. My cutting board for some things that I use, just a combination of different things. Most of the food residue, I kindly do monitor and wash it off, and let the dishwasher deal with the other part of it.”

“So this is a pretty normal load, for my family and I. Lots of plates, lots of cups, silverware. I don't ever put like, these knives on the side, I don't ever put those in the dishwasher, but this is this is pretty normal for us. Lots of plates and bowls and cups.”

“It is mostly plates, cups, mugs, and silverware, which is pretty typical of the items that I use throughout the week.”
